The Zone Technique

he Zone Technique logoThe Zone Technique-(originally named Zone Therapy)-was developed in 1931 by Dr. Thurman Fleet. The method is based on the idea that there are six potential zones of the body that, when disturbed by emotional, physical, or chemical stressors, can lead to a variety of diseases as well as pain. The healing results Dr. Fleet’s patients achieved were remarkable. In the early 1990s, Dr. Pete Goldman began studying alongside several of Dr. Fleet’s top students and created his Zone Technique.

The Only Area Provider of the Zone Technique

Dr. Lee is certified in Dr. Goldman’s Zone Technique and is proud to offer this exciting method to his patients. As the only practitioner within a 100-mile radius that practices the Zone Technique, Dr. Lee is grateful that he can offer this as part of his chiropractic care.

The Six Zones

Here are the six zones or systems that Dr. Fleet identified as being critical for optimal health:

Zone One: The Glandular System. You can think of this system as the body’s thermostat. The glandular system is responsible for critical bodily functions related to memory, energy, appetite regulation, sleep and relaxation.

Zone Two: The Eliminative System. Considered the body’s waste disposal plant, the eliminative system is designed to decrease toxin buildup within the body. That action, in turn, boosts the immune function, improves respiratory function and reduces bloating.

Zone Three: The Nervous System. As an intelligent communication network, the nervous system is made up of the brain and spinal cord (the central nervous system) and all of the other nerves (the peripheral nervous system). Each nerve is responsible for a different function. When this system is functioning optimally, you can experience improved mood, a balance of the hormonal system, increased energy and better sleep.

Zone Four: The Digestive System. The human body requires essential nutrients to survive and the digestive system is responsible for taking these nutrients from the food sources we eat and breaking them down so they are more available for the cells that require them. This helps normalize weight and boost energy.

Zone Five: The Muscular System. This system, which is the framework for the body, includes muscles, tendons and ligaments. All of these soft tissues are responsible for helping the body move more effortlessly and without pain or tenderness. This system is also responsible for our strength, muscle recovery, flexibility and ability to retain balance.

Zone Six: The Circulatory/Lymphatic System. To function effectively, the body’s cells need to intake nutrients and oxygen and get rid of waste. Balancing this system will help normalize blood pressure, promote healthier blood vessels and improve circulation.

The objective of the Zone Technique is to take these systems and pinpoint which brain centers are out of sync, creating problems within the body.

What to Expect

Dr. Lee will examine you to identify which of the brain centers are not in harmony with the systems they control. To do this, he will feel specific points on your head. These spots are related to the six brain centers by nerve connections. When a brain center is not transmitting the proper signals to its system, all bodily material associated with that system suffers. To correct this, Dr. Lee stimulates specific points in the spinal cord.

There are six sets of four spots in the spinal cord (negative pole) that correspond to the six brain centers (positive pole). Stimulation of the proper points by Dr. Lee sends healing energy up the spinal cord to the brain centers that require balancing. Once the brain centers are balanced, they can send out the proper signals to the body’s systems and the body is better able to heal itself.
